1. Who we are

Kinetic POS is operated by Kinetic CNC Services (Pty) Ltd. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this notice — meaning we decide how and why your data is processed.

2. What we collect

  • Account data: name, email address, login credentials;
  • Shop data: shop name, logo, contact details, products, stock levels, and sales records you enter;
  • Support messages: anything you send us when asking for help;
  • Usage and device data: IP address, device and browser type, and basic usage telemetry.

3. Why we use it

  • Creating and securing your account (performance of our contract with you);
  • Providing the point of sale service to your shop (contract);
  • Security and fraud prevention (legitimate interests);
  • Improving the product (legitimate interests);
  • Customer support (contract / legitimate interests);
  • Meeting legal obligations, such as tax and accounting rules (legal obligation).

4. Who we share it with

  • Service providers that host and operate the app (cloud hosting, authentication, analytics);
  • Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for the sale of subscriptions, payment processing, subscription management, tax compliance, and invoicing;
  • Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where needed;
  • Authorities where required by law.

We do not sell your personal data.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your data for as long as your account is active and as needed for legal, tax, and accounting purposes. When data is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymised.

6. Your rights

Depending on your country, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, to data portability, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. You may also have the right to complain to your data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us via the details in the app and we will respond within one month.

7. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and access controls that limit who can see your shop's information.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and make the app work. We do not use marketing cookies. You can clear these in your browser settings, but the app may stop working correctly without them.
